Halo Top Creamery Ice Cream Review (Just 240 Calories per Pint!!)

Halo Ice Cream

*Disclosure: I did receive product to facilitate my review. These opinions are my own and were in no way influenced by another person.

Who in their right mind would say no to an ice cream review opportunity? Well, NOT me, that’s for sure 🙂 I was thrilled when the folks at Halo Top Creamery reached out to offer me a review.

I need to start off by telling you something. This ice cream boasts that it has as little as 240 calories PER PINT!! (so naturally, I pretty much devoured a pint in one sitting for my review, because I take my reviews pretty stinking seriously!) Another exciting point of interest is that Halo Top ice cream is higher in protein than most ice creams! This is good and you can read more about WHY that is so awesome, here on the Halo Top Creamery Ice Cream FAQ page.

In preparation for the warmer, summer month’s Halo Top Creamery – a 100% natural, preservative-free, lite ice cream – has decided to expand its flavor profile (which originally consisted of Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry and Lemon Cake) to include  not one, but three more heavenly flavors!

Halo Top Review

Only 60-80 calories per serving, each flavor is made completely free of artificial sweeteners, synthetic growth hormones and cheap corn syrup. They also contain 7 grams of protein (hello, protein shakes) and 4 grams of fiber, sugar and net carbs! Halo Top is also completely free of GMO’s, gluten, trans fat and gelatin – making them all vegetarian friendly).

Our thoughts?
My family LOVED this ice cream. To be fair, we are a family that loves ice cream in general, so Halo Top came in with pretty good odds BUT with their boast of 240 – 280 calories per pint, I have to admit, I was skeptical about how good this ice cream would taste.

It is harder than most ice cream, a bit more “icy” than some other ice creams, so you will want to let it sit out for a few minutes before you dig in. The reason that it freezes a bit harder is because it is also quite a bit healthier than other ice creams, so it’s a great compromise. Halo is so refreshing because it is light and airy, and I have to say, the fact that it is very low in calories makes it so much funner to eat! We will definitely be purchasing Halo Top ice cream again, in fact – my daughter has requested the Birthday Cake flavor for her upcoming birthday!
