In The Recording Studio Voicing Dipper

Mark your calendars!! Disney’s PLANES FIRE AND RESCUE flies into theatres everywhere on July 18th and I’m excited to share that I had quite the experience in the recording studio trying my voice at voicing Dipper!

Recording Booth 3

I recently travelled to LA for a press junket for the soon to be released Disney movie Planes Fire and Rescue. One of my very very VERY favorite parts of these Disney press trips are the sessions spent in the recording booth. First of all, this recording booth is the SAME recording booth that the celebrities use to voice the Disney characters. Second of all … it’s so much fun!! (ok and a bit scary!) But it really gives you an idea of how hard voice acting can be, and it’s quite exciting to see your own voice as a Disney character!!

Disclosure: This event and trip to LA was an all expense paid journey sponsored by Disney. All thoughts, experiences and Disney character crushes are 100% my own!

All of the “voice magic” comes together thanks to these two guys, Casting Director, Jason Henkel, and Sound Engineer, Paul McGrath. They are so awesome to work with and honestly, I can see how fun that they make this for the real voice actors. Seriously, two super cool dudes:

Getting in the recording booth is a bit intimidating, so you have to bring your sense of humor. I definitely brought mine, as you can see below… but I love the end result, and that is thanks to the magic adjustments of Sound Engineer Paul McGrath, he makes it all look flawless! Voicing Dipper was so much fun!
