Easy Easter Chick Cookies
As usual, I find myself planning an event for the kiddos and I was scrambling to come up with a fun treat idea that they could make AND eat.
This is a fun treat idea that also could serve as an activity for the kids. It takes very few ingredients, no baking (other than heating/melting the chocolate in the microwave), the kids will have fun making them and they are actually pretty yummy as well!
Ingredients for Making Nutter Butter Easter Chick Cookies
Box of Nutter Butter Cookies
Orange Starbursts
Yellow Chocolate Candy Melts
M&Ms Minis
Mini Jellybeans
How to Make Easter Chick Cookies out of Nutter Butter Cookies
Before you melt the chocolate you will want to make your beaks and wings.
To make the beaks, I just cut off the corners of an orange Starburst square and then turned the triangle on it’s side to make the beak opening.
They are also cute with a closed beak, so I made some of each. For the wings, I just cut strips of Starburst candy and then cut out triangles to make it look like wings. (see photo)
Melt the Candy Melts in a glass bowl in the microwave.
I melt them in 15 second increments, stirring them each time. Dip the Nutter Butters in the melted chocolate so that they are totally covered, and then set on racks.
While they are drying, hurry to add the brown M&M Minis for eyes along with the beaks and wings, and you can also re-dip their bodies so that just the bottom gets an extra glob of melted chocolate so that you can stick the jelly beans on. Enjoy!
