Crushing Oreos

Making truffles with oreos

Add the cream cheese in the bowl with the cookies and combine well. Also stir in the peppermint extract, you may want a bit more or less depending on how strong you want the truffles to taste. Form the truffle “dough” into small, one inch sized balls, and place on a piece of wax paper.

Melt some vanilla baking chips (it will take roughly one bag of chips depending on how thick you put the coating on). Pour a small amount over the top of the truffles until coated. Use a spoon to spread the melted baking chips around the sides of the truffles.

Coating Oreo Truffles

Sprinkle a bit of crushed peppermint candy over the tops of the truffles while the coating is still wet for a garnish.
