If your family is like mine…then the holidays brought several new toys, along with several new colds, coughs and sniffles. My daughter started kindergarten this year, and honestly … we have never had so many colds in a short time span!

The Product: 3M Scotch-Brite™ Botanical Disinfecting Wipes kill 99.9% of household germs*and cold & flu viruses leaving surfaces like counters, tables and toys residue-free. Surprisingly, most disinfecting wipes that are used in homes or schools on any non-porous surface, require rinsing after wiping. However, the “no-rinse” feature found in the Scotch-Brite™ Botanical Disinfecting Wipes provides a safe and effective way to clean surfaces and toys alike.

*Kills over 99.9% of household germs: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella enterica, Staphylococcus aureus, Methicillin Resistant S. aureus (MRSA), Enterobacter aerogenes, Influenza A virus, Rhinovirus type 37, and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Type 1. The Challenge: Keep Toys Clean Scotch-Brite Botanical Disinfecting Wipes Challenge. The goal here is to use these wipes to disinfect toys and keep them clean. We were happy (*sniffle/sniffle) to take on this challenge.

The Toys: My daughter has a play area that sits right next to her brother’s play area. You know…so that Strawberry Shortcake often finds herself in the Bat Cave bringing muffins to the Joker. Seriously, this stuff happens. Yesterday, I heard Batman proclaim (in the voice of my daughter) that, “Everytime I go into the batcave for a break someone needs me for an emergency, I can’t get a break!“ And then…off he flew to help a Lalaloopsy who was in distress!

The three main focal places of our play area include a Thomas Table (the age old meeting place for all great super heros and characters), the Bat Cave (hero central) and the Doll House (source of comfort, love and new outfit for those who need a change). Whenever we have friends over to play, this area gets turned upside down and inside out and I love it. What I don’t love, are the germies that get left behind. What I do love, are these new Scotch-Brite Botanical Wipes that clean things up in a breeze … and my daughter even loves to do the cleaning with them, because you know: CLEANING IF FUN! (Lord, please let her continue to think that well into her teens…. )

My thoughts? I love having these wipes on hand…they smell clean and fresh and they are so easy to use for a quick swipe of toys and things that could easy become contaminated. I am not a germ freak, however, as much as we have been sick, I will do what I can to avoid it, when I can…plus I love that it sparkles up the toys and keeps them looking nice and clean. We have several friends with babies as well, so it makes me feel good that they can come over and play with the toys and I don’t worry as much about them when they stick things in their mouth, and I am a bit of a worrier when it comes to little ones getting sick, because that is never fun!

Check out our play area … everyone is welcome in the dollhouse, including the little disgruntled Dallas Cowboys football player (I think he is mad that they didn’t make it to the Superbowl, boo). I love that they have the Batcave near by, because Batman is always poppin’ in to see how he can help. Now THAT is a safe neighborhood:

Surprisingly, I always carry wipes with me and wipe down everything when we’re out in public! I guess I don’t really think about all the germs they bring home!
