The Book: Etched…Upon My Heart: What We Learn and Why We Never Forget by New York Times best-selling author, Jill Kelly! Wife of NFL legend Jim Kelly, shares deeply personal experiences as a mother trying to make every moment count, against the backdrop of trying circumstances.

My thoughts? Normally when review items come into my home, they first go to some shelves that I have set up for things, and I get to them as I have time. For some reason, as soon as I opened this book, I began reading it … which turned into over an hour later and I was still sitting in the same spot, totally wrapped up into this book. Jill does a wonderful job of sharing the ups and downs of her life and her family in a totally RAW fashion (which I so commend!) and the reality of it all makes you feel her joy and her pain, and it really makes you realize that we are all human and we are all in this together and that truly only God can get us through some of lives hardest moments. Jill has experienced huge loss and has also had to face enormous amounts of forgiveness and patience, love and understanding … as we all do, but her candid sharing really speaks to your heart and will warm your soul!

My twins were born 16 weeks premature so holding them for the first time will be etched forever in my mind. One was at 16 days just 1 day before he passed away and the other was when he was 1 month old. Just over 5 years ago.
