EASY Homemade Pretzels Recipe

Looking for a good homemade pretzel recipe? What is better than a soft pretzel coated in butter and parmesan cheese?

Here’s what you need to make these easy pretzels: 

  • 4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 4 cups hot water
  • 1/4 cup kosher salt, for topping

These would make wonderful after school snacks or also a great tailgate or party food. My kids love to dip their pretzels in melted cheese or mustard, and I’m kind of fond of both so I usually try to keep both options on hand. We’ve never tried freezing these, but I’m told they do freeze nicely and then you can just reheat them in the microwave.
