UPDATE: CLOSED! …and the winner is: Terri S. who said: Email subscriber

This next review is a fun one, and when I was asked to review this book, I was instantly interested because it is called “Being Four”. Not only was I four once, I have a son who also was, and a daughter who almost is … so I was excited to check it out.

About Being Four and Auther Kim Cormack: Author Kim Cormack wrote this heart-warming children’s book about her son, Cameron, detailing his hilarious and mischievous adventures when he was turning four years old. The beach scenes were photographed on Rathtrever Beach on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, which she calls the most beautiful place on the planet. “I awoke in the middle of the night and wrote this book. In a dream, I remembered the excitement of getting to hold and touch a new baby chick. How it felt to do all of the little things that as an adult you take for granted. “Maybe it had something to do with my little boy turning four in the following weeks, or maybe I was just longing for the blissful simplicity of life as a child. How your emotions were sitting on your sleeve. You were happy because something wonderful had happened. You were sad when somebody hurt you and there was never a reason to hide your true feelings. “You trusted because you never had known real pain. You loved because it made you feel good inside. Life was so beautiful, everything was magic.” Being Four is all about embracing the joys of childhood. Kim Cormack is a single mom with two “incredible” children. She has been a preschool teacher for fifteen years. She lives in Port Alberni on Vancouver Island, where she has written five children’s books and two novels for adults.

What I think: I must admit. This book caught me off guard a bit. There is this really simple (simple!) feeling that I get sometimes when I revert back to early childhood memories. I went through a lot of those emotions and feelings again when my son was in preschool last year. We (my kids and I) experienced these thoughts again when we shared this book together. Here is the thing. This book speaks to a child like they want to be spoken to. It is simple. Simple expressions of feelings and moments. Nothing flashy or frilly… but my kids were totally interested. And have asked me to “read it again” several times since. Neat and unique book! You can purchase Being Four where it sells for $12.00.

That thing fascinated me, lol!)

UPDATE: CLOSED! ….and the winner is: Gina who said: I am a facebook fan.

I have shared with you many times my desire to get organized. (I am such a work in progress!)  So I of course, was very excited with the opportunity to share with you this new movement by Hanes to Clean Out Your Drawers!!  Hanes has teamed up with  TV star, author and new mom, Bethenny Frankel, and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’s resident interior designer, Michael Moloney, to encourage America to Clean Out Their Drawers and rid yourself of the ragged, the worn, the ridiculously uncomfortable and the out of style. Michael and Bethenny have created tips on how to streamline the process and replenish with the right items.

Research shows that nearly everyone hoards innerwear and socks. In fact, people rarely clean out their drawers and only actually wear about 70 percent of the items they own. Spring-cleaning season is the perfect time to think about a yearly effort to clear out the clutter. You’ll be amazed at how good you feel afterward!

Here are some great tips to get you started:

Bethenny Says…

· It is as easy as 1, 2, 3: Cleaning out your drawers doesn’t have to be stressful. Just make three piles: toss, keep, and donate!

· If you have not worn it in a year, you probably never will. If you have bras and underwear that are hanging on by the last threads, it is time to let them go. Let me give you a hint, when the wires are popping out everywhere and it hasn’t fit in three years, it’s time to put it out of its misery, and yours.

· Mornings made easier. Does your morning routine consist of digging through piles of underwear in search of a “decent pair”? If you’re nodding your head yes right now, it sounds like you need to clean out your drawers. The first step of getting organized is simply knowing what you have!

· You have to see it to wear it. Make sure you can see everything in the drawer. There’s no use keeping it, if it’s buried way in the back. If your drawers are looking bare when you’re done, it’s time to go shopping! Replace those old clothes with brand new Hanes, the comfiest innerwear and socks around.

· Donate, donate, donate! Think about all of the items you bought and never wore. Give them to reputable organizations like Goodwill® to help to fund their job training programs that help millions of Americans find jobs each year.

One Lucky SheSaved reader is going to win a Hanes  gift package of socks, undies and a tee to replace a few of those worn or unused items that you are going to clean out!!

Here’s how to enter:

Entry #1 ~ Answer this question: What is your most frustrating closet or drawer issue? (mine? no doubt…socks!! I have huge sock issues… and I spend far too much time searching for matches!)

Entry #2 ~ Subscribe to my daily email newsletter or RSS Feed (and if you already do, thank you … give yourself an entry as well)
