I am continuing my journey as Weight Watchers Insider… which means that I am currently reviewing the new PointsPlus™ program that was just released by Weight Watchers. I wanted to give you an update on all that I have learned (and am still learning) about this exciting new program!
Weight watchers released a new iPad app that I have been reviewing called the Weight Watchers Kitchen Companion. The app that gives you ideas for what to cook and how to cook it. It’s the ultimate interactive healthy cooking tool — the app will take you through the cooking process, from planning the menu, to shopping for ingredients, to making the dish. This is just about the coolest thing ever!!
Here is what I love…this app has helped me to actually see exactly what nutritional value I am getting out of the foods that I am eating. One small change that I have made (that has made a huge difference) is substituting things in menus that I already use often, to make them healthier for my family. In my pursuit of a healthier diet for me and my family, the weight watchers menu planning and recipe ideas have really helped me to make small changes that mean BIG changes in the long run. Take for example this awesome recipe for a yummy dressing that has all of the flavor of a full calorie (and fat filled dressing) but is actually quite lite and healthy!
Green Goddess Dressing
This retro-favorite dressing is packed with fresh herbs and best on simple salads with lettuce, celery, and perhaps sliced radishes. Or try it mixed into canned tuna for a new take on tuna salad.
Makes 4 servings

- 2 Tbsp fat-free mayonnaise
- 2 Tbsp fat-free sour cream
- 2 Tbsp finely minced chives or the green part of a scallion
- 2 Tbsp finely minced parsley leaves
- 1 Tbsp white wine vinegar
- 1 canned anchovy fillet (oil packed), minced
- Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl until creamy.
- Serving size: 1 1/2 tablespoons.

Along with the app, I have so enjoyed all that the Weight Watchers website has to offer (you don’t have to be a member to access many of the features) The thing that I am learning through the Weight Watchers application is that Weight Watchers has so much less do to with losing weight, than it does about eating healthy… which applies to everyone. Our bodies deserve healthy, fresh, whole foods…and yet, we tend to fill them up with the exact opposite (guilty!!) Education really is powerful, and this journey has been such a blessing for me and my family!
My friend Karen has already lost over 6 pounds in two weeks using the new Weight Watchers Points Plus system…I am so proud of her!! (and very impressed!)
