Just a reminder that they are still accepting applications for the Neilsen Homescan Consumer Panel… and you will know instantly after submitting your information if you qualify or not. Most likely they will put you on a waiting list, but I would still get on one now if this interests you because they are not always accepting new signups. We got several small survey things from them (with $5 incentives) before we finally got our Homescan, and that took almost 6 months…so I would get on the list now if you wan tto do this.
Here is how the program works: Once you qualify, they will call you and go over a few questions and let you know that your package is on the way. In your package will be a scanner…and you basically use it to scan any new product (food/clothing/etc) that your family purchases. The really cool thing is that you earn points, and you can turn in your points for prizes (they also have random type sweepstakes, and my girlfriend Kelly won $100 in one of those, but I have never personally won a sweepstakes) …. but the prizes are really good… my girlfriend also just cashed in her rewards to get a Breadmaker (nice one!) and I think that is what I will save my points for as well. . . plus my kids LOVE scanning stuff!!
Neilsen is the oldest and most popular consumer panel company out there. . . this isn’t a “shady” company at all … they are very professional through the entire process.
