… This is a repost from 9/11, but I wanted to share these neat patiotic messages again. My grandfathers were both veterans of SEVERAL wars…and I so wish that they were still here so that I could learn more of our history from them. I remember asking my grandfather if he wanted to see the movie Pearl Harbor. “I don’t need to see it, I was there!”, was his reply. He lived it. I cannot imagine.
He lived it, but he hardly ever wanted to talk about it. . .
I came across the Pledge of Allegiance as done by Red Skelton, who always ended his show with “God Bless America” … and it makes me so sad to know that my kids will probably never get to even say the Pledge of Allegiance in school. (*in fact…WHY IS THERE EVEN SCHOOL TODAY? This should be one of our most honored holidays…. my opinion there.)This really touched me and really made me think …so I am going to share. If you don’t agree…that is ok… that is the whole point.
God Bless!!….check it out
HERE.
…sometimes just stopping and thinking and being thankful changes things, even just a little.
Just taking the time to listen to these old heros talk made my blessing seem larger and my troubles seem smaller…. so I just had a share. On our little deal sites we are always talking about free stuff… so how about a shout out for FREEdom! amen.
…and for MORE neat…how about John Wayne’s Pledge
HERE and his American, Why I love her
HERE …. or Johnny Cash’s Ragged Old Flag
HERE.
And if you know a veteran…give them a
big hug today.
